Chicago Bears hire Packers quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy as new offensive coordinator

The Chicago Bears announced on Sunday that they have hired former Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy as their new offensive coordinator.

Getsy has experience helping Aaron Rodgers into a standout quarterback and the hope is that under his leadership, he can make positive strides with talented youngster Justin Fields too. He will be calling the plays as Matt Eberflus is a defensive-minded coach.

Solid hire by the Bears as they try to retool their offense as it was ranked 29th overall last season.

Packers also lost their offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett as the head coach of the Broncos.

Texans quarterback coach Pep Hamilton also interviewed for the OC job for the Bears.
