Not good news to start the contest.

During the second play of Sunday's game against the 49ers, veteran Bears safety Eddie Jackson appeared to injure his right hamstring covering a deep pass thrown to Brandon Aiyuk.

Jackson waved to the trainers as he went down near the 49ers sideline.

He walked slowly off the field as Teez Tabor came in as his replacement. DeAndre Houston-Carson will also get some reps at safety.

Akiem Hicks and Roquan Smith both gave Jackson a huge as it appears that his day might be done.

Jackson was in the medical tent for a few moments before limping to the team's locker room.

We will update you when we have more information on Jackson's injury status.

Update: Bears announced that Jackson is doubtful to return to the contest with a hamstring injury.
