The unofficial captain of the Chicago Cubs is without a doubt Anthony Rizzo.

Rizzo is well-beloved by his teammates, coaches, and everyone associated with Chicago.

However, he will hit free agency after this season and has no extension yet with the Northsiders.

MLB insider Jon Morosi is reporting that Rizzo will be highly coveted by the Miami Marlins due to his popularity in his home state growing up there.

"Anthony Rizzo and Carlos Correa are ideal free-agent targets for the Marlins after this season, as CaseyStern just mentioned on MLBNetworkRadio," Morosi posted. "Miami's good, inexpensive rotation should allow them to spend on a position player. And Rizzo is from Broward County."

For his career, Rizzo is a .271 hitter with 229 homers and 609 RBIs.
