Cubs News: Pete Crow-Armstrong injury update |
Pete Crow-Armstrong has been out of the lineup for the second straight game after suffering a left thumb injury on a stolen base on Wednesday against the Phillies.
'PCA' received four stitches on the cut. Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell provided an update on Crow-Armstrong's condition. “There's a confidence that you sense,” Counsell said. “And when it's a starting pitcher, they know what they're capable of. And they also feel that responsibility of, ‘It's my job to do this.’ And that's where you try to get. That's where pitchers try to get. They take games unto themselves, really.” For the season, PCA is hitting .199 with a homer, 16 stolen bases, and 15 RBIs. The Cubs are hopeful that he will make a speedy recovery and return to bolster their lineup soon.
