Detriot hires former Cubs coach

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

The Detriot Tigers have hired former Chicago Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio according to multiple reports including USA Today.

Bosio had been with the Cubs the last six seasons. One of the reasons for his departure is probably the horrid job that the bullpen did in the postseason for the Cubs. However, he is a well-respected pitching coach as he helped Jake Arrieta become the ace that he is and also contributed in helping Kyle Hendricks win the NL ERA leader award in 2016.

The Cubs have already got a pitching coach replacement as they hired Joe Maddon's former pitching coach Jim Hickey on Thursday. They worked together in Tampa Bay from 2006-2014. He left the organization after the season and now is reunited with Maddon in the Windy City.
