Two Cubs teammates named as NL CY Young finalists |
Cubs teammates Jon Lester and Kyle Hendricks were announced as finalists for the National League CY Young Award on Monday evening.
Lester was 3-1 with a 2.02 ERA in five starts in the postseason. He was 19-5 with 2.44 ERA with 197 strikeouts and a 1.02 WHIP this season. In three postseason starts in 21 innings, he gave up only 14 hits, two runs, two walks, and 14 strikeouts going 2-0. Hendricks was 1-1 with a 1.42 ERA in five starts in the postseason. He was 16-8 with 2.13 ERA with 170 strikeouts and a 0.98 ERA. The other finalist was Max Scherzer of the Nationals. The winner of the National League CY Young will be named on Nov. 16.
