WATCH: Christopher Morel smacks fifth homer in eight games

by - Senior Editor -

Chicago Cubs outfielder Christopher Morel smacked a solo homer to put the Cubs up 5-1 on Wednesday night against the Houston Astros.

The homer went 402 feet and had an estimated travel velocity of 110.1 MPH.

It was his fifth homer in only eight games at the big league level this season.

Only five other hitters Cubs have at least five homers in their 1st eight games of a season since 1901 with Dave Kingman, Billy Williams, Randy Jackson, Roger Hornsby, and Gabby Hartnett.

It should be a fun ride to watch Morel play baseball for many years to come on the Northside.
