WATCH: Kyle Schwarber lays out for athletic diving grab |
CHICAGO — Leaving his feet and laying out for a stellar catch, Chicago Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber showed off his athleticism and defensive aptitude after hitting a 3-run blast earlier in Monday night's contest. The solid grab came with the Cubs leading the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 in the top of the fourth.
Following a leadoff ground-rule double, Reds pinch hitter Derek Dietrich drilled a line drive to left field, and Schwarber raced in for the catch at Wrigley Field. Diving forward, Schwarber made the snag just above the outfield grass and forced the runner to hold at second base. Kyle Schwarber is having himself a night! pic.twitter.com/zG6KsPZjpm
