WATCH: Patrick Wisdom crushes 424-foot three-run homer against Reds |
Chicago Cubs third baseman Patrick Wisdom crushed a three-run homer to the left field bleachers to put the Cubs up 3-2 in the second inning against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.
The gigantic blast traveled 424 feet with an exit velocity of 112 MPH and a launch angle of 21 degrees. It was his 13th homer of the season, and it snapped a streak of 36 at-bats between homers. It was his first homer since May 10. This is great news for the Cubs as they need a hot-hitting Wisdom to get going on a daily basis like he did in April. It looked like Patrick Wisdom was hit by an Ashcraft pitch in the 2nd, but the 97-mph cutter met the knob of his bat. A tough foul ball.
