WATCH: Patrick Wisdom ties Cubs April record with 10th homer |
Chicago Cubs third baseman Patrick Wisdom blasted a two-run homer on a changeup down the middle to pull the Cubs within three runs at 5-2 in the second inning of Saturday's game against the Miami Marlins.
It was his 10th homer of the season as it traveled a projected 418 feet with an exit velocity of 105.5 MPH. It was a prime example of the power that Wisdom possesses, and why he has become such an important player for the Cubs this season. The homer tied a Cubs record for most homers with 10 for the month of April alongside Alfonso Soriano (2011). It's very early, but Wisdom is on pace for 62 homers for the season. While it's still early in the season, Wisdom's performance so far has been a bright spot for the Cubs. If he can continue to provide power in the middle of the lineup, it could be a key factor in their success this year. Home Run (10) 💣
Exit velo: 105.5 mph
Launch angle: 27 deg
Proj. distance: 418 ft
This would have been a home run in 29/30 MLB ballparks.
Only Coors Field would've held this one in.
