WATCH: Wrigley Field explodes as Rizzo hits 429-foot solo bomb to break up no-hitter |
CHICAGO — Breaking up a no-hitter and tying the National League Central tiebreaker up at one run apiece, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo crushed a no-doubter to right field in the bottom of the fifth. The Cubs' first hit of the game was a 429-foot blast that smoked off the bat at 110 miles per hour and sent Wrigley Field into a frenzy.
Don't bother turning around. #TeamRizzo pic.twitter.com/usVz6HjcMZ A solo blast to lead off the bottom of the fifth, Rizzo's 25th home run and 101st RBI of the year ended Brewers starter Jhoulys Chacin's no-hit bid. Leaving the yard in a hurry, the dinger was such a monstrous shot that Brewers right fielder Christian Yelich did not even move after Rizzo made contact, as it was obviously a round-tripper. No.....
