Cubs make camp decision on PCA, Brennen Davis and more |
MESA – The Chicago Cubs today reduced the spring roster from 66 to 56 players.
Outfielders Alexander Canario and Brennen Davis have been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. Right-handed pitchers Ben Brown and Ryan Jensen, and catcher Miguel Amaya, have been optioned to Double-A Tennessee. Outfielder Kevin Alcántara has been optioned to High-A South Bend. Four non-roster invitees have been assigned to minor league camp: right-handed pitchers Danis Correa, Jordan Holloway and Ben Leeper, and outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong. Chicago’s spring roster of 56 players consists of 33 pitchers (which includes 13 non-roster invitees), four catchers (two non-roster invitees), 11 infielders (three non-roster invitees), six outfielders (two non-roster invitees) and two infielder/outfielders. #Cubs have assigned Pete Crow-Armstrong to minor league camp, but he has really impressed them this spring, to say the least. pic.twitter.com/L8cp0KGWnC
