Bears announce players out against Saints

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Bears announced their inactive list for Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.

Justin Fields is out for the third straight game as he deals with his right thumb injury. He is hopeful to be back Thursday against the Carolina Panthers.

Rookie signal-caller Tyson Bagent will make this third NFL start.

He has thrown for 477 yards with a touchdown and three picks this season.

Defensive back Terell Smith (mono), offensive lineman Nate Davis (ankle), safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion), linebacker Tremaine Edwards (knee) and defensive lineman Dominingue Robinson (healthy scratch) are all listed inactive for today's game.

On the bright side, veteran safety Eddie Jackson and left tackle Braxton Jones were not included with an injury designation and should be ready to go.

Another player who is active and should be interesting to watch is defensive lineman Montez Sweat, who will play today.

Jack Sanborn will likely start in place of Tremaine Edwards and be a major factor for the defense.

Elijah Hicks will probably start in place of injured safety Jaquan Brisker.

The Saints players that are inactive were TE Jimmy Graham, QB Jake Haener, WR Keith Kirkwood, DE Kyle Phillips, OL Nick Saldiveri and LB Ty Summers.

The Bears (2-6) and Saints (4-4) kick off at noon CT on Sunday.
