Bears place three players on injured reserve |
Tough news on a few promising players.
The Chicago Bears will be placing three players on injured reserve: rookie running back Ian Wheeler, receiver Nsimba Webster, and defensive back Douglas Coleman. Since they were placed on the injured reserve in the preseason, they will be out the entire regular season. Wheeler suffered a torn ACL during the preseason finale against the Chiefs. He was impressive the last few weeks, with 12 carries for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Webster was also injured against the Chiefs. He had three catches for 68 yards during the contest and five catches for 87 yards overall during the preseason. Coleman suffered a scary neck/head injury and was rushed to the hospital during the first play of the second half. “When I was on the field, over there on the Chiefs sideline, he was moving his limbs and gave us a thumbs-up,” Eberflus said, “so that was good to see. I don’t have anything more. He’s at the hospital right now being evaluated.” The good news is that Coleman was recently released from the hospital and was in good spirits. This preseason, he had three tackles and a forced fumble. Here's the scary scene from Arrowhead. Bears DB Douglas Coleman has been released from the hospital. Coach Matt Eberflus is expected to provide an update on @670TheScore at 12:25. The Bears will make several more moves soon as the 53-man cutdown deadline is Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT.
