Former Bears OL Sam Mustipher signs with Ravens |
Former Chicago Bears offensive lineman Sam Mustipher is embarking on a new chapter in his career.
Mustipher signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday. He started 40 games for Chicago over the last three seasons after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2019. For the 2022 season, he earned a 63.4 grade from Pro Football Focus. However, not all is lost for the Bears as general manager Ryan Poles has been proactive in reshaping the Bears' offensive line this offseason. In addition to signing guard Nate Davis, Poles made a notable move in the 2023 NFL draft by selecting tackle Darnell Wright with the 10th overall pick. These additions, along with the existing talent on the roster, reflect the team's commitment to revamping and strengthening the offensive line. The Bears will undoubtedly miss Mustipher's contributions, but his departure opens up opportunities for other players to step up and make an impact. Look for Cody Whitehair to start at center for the 2023 season. It will be interesting to see how the offensive line takes shape in the coming season and how the new additions, including Nate Davis and Darnell Wright, will fit into the lineup.
