Former Bears standout WR Allen Robinson traded to Steelers

by - Senior Editor -

Former Chicago Bears standout wide receiver Allen Robinson has been traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The trade was made official after Robinson passed his physical with the Steelers.

As part of the trade, the Steelers will receive Robinson and a seventh-round pick (No. 251) while the Rams will receive a seventh-round pick (No. 234). The Rams will also pay $10.25 million of Robinson’s salary, while the Steelers will pay the remaining $5 million.

Robinson has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL during his career.

Robinson’s addition to the Steelers’ offense should provide a major boost. The team has been searching for a reliable number one receiver since Antonio Brown’s departure in 2019, and Robinson should fit that bill.

His size (6’2”) and athleticism make him a formidable target for quarterback Kenny Pickett, and his ability to make contested catches should help the Steelers’ passing game.

The trade also makes sense for the Rams, who are looking to shed salary after going all-in on their roster over the past few years.

By trading him and paying a portion of his salary, the Rams are able to clear some much-needed cap space.

Overall, this trade should benefit both teams. The Steelers are getting a top-tier wide receiver who should help them compete for a playoff spot, while the Rams are able to shed some salary and continue to build their roster for the future.

Robinson’s presence in Pittsburgh should make the Steelers’ offense much more dynamic, and it will be exciting to see how he performs in his new home.
