Cubs reportedly sign speedy outfielder to minor league deal |
The Chicago Cubs have signed speedy outfielder Ian Miller to a minor league deal on Wednesday according to a report by MLB insider Ken Rosenthal.
In 2019, he batted .176 with an RBI in 17 at-bats with the Twins. During his minor league career, he is a .274 hitter with 243 stolen bases. Miller will likely be a depth piece in the minors (plays all three outfield positions) and start out at Triple-A Iowa. It's possible if the Cubs need some speed on the roster, he could be used at some point next season at the big league level. He was a 14th round pick by the Mariners in the 2013 draft.
