Chicago Cubs set 2016 Opening Day roster

The Chicago Cubs have set their Opening Day 25-man roster in advance of their 2016 season opener tomorrow night at the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Cubs have placed four players on the 15-day disabled list. Right-handed pitcher Dallas Beeler has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Right-handed pitcher Aaron Brooks has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a hip contusion. Infielder Javy Baez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb contusion. Infielder Christian Villanueva has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right fibular fracture. All four players on the disabled list are retroactive to March 25.
