Cubs News: Ryne Sandberg health update

by - Senior Editor -

Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The Cubs all-time great has been going through the grind of chemo treatment on his body.

'Ryno' announced on social media on Friday some fantastic news that he has no cancer currently in his body.

"Round #4 in the books! Great news last week: No cancerous activity in my whole body, PET scan," he posted on social media. "Thanks to God! Continuing with treatments of Chemo and radiation ahead of me. Positive attitude to the max with the news. Takes me back to my early symptoms of back pain and other side effects which we reacted to quickly with tests to diagnose my cancer! Thanks to all for support and love and positive thoughts. #godisgood"

Sandberg is a nine-time Glove Glove winner and seven-time Silver Slugger winner.

Best wishes to Ryno, and we pray for a full recovery.
