FIRST LOOK: Chicago Cubs to host Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Wrigley Field |
CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs will host a Hispanic Heritage Celebration at Wrigley Field Tuesday, September 19, filled with pregame activities at Gallagher Way and on-field festivities, when the Cubs take on the Pittsburgh Pirates at 6:40 p.m. CDT. On the same day, the Cubs also will celebrate Roberto Clemente Day.
For the Hispanic Heritage Celebration, fans can listen to a mariachi band, purchase baseball-themed piñatas and take part in various photo opportunities provided by Advocate Health Care pregame at Gallagher Way. Inside the ballpark, fans will be entertained by a curated playlist created by DJ Miriam and can enjoy specialty concession items at the Sheffield Corner concession stand including tortas, quesabirria and sope. The national anthem will be sung by singer and Chicago native Jesus Ramos. Founder and CEO of Dulcelandia Candy Stores Eduardo Rodriguez will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Cubs Spanish radio broadcasters Miguel Esparza and Jorge Moreno will sing the seventh-inning stretch. Cubs fans interested in attending the September 19 game have the opportunity to secure a special-edition sugar skull bobblehead through the Hispanic Heritage Celebration Special Ticket Offer. A portion of the proceeds from each Hispanic Heritage Celebration Special Ticket Offer will benefit the National Museum of Mexican Art. On September 19, the Cubs also will celebrate Roberto Clemente Day and will award Andrea Sáenz from The Chicago Community Trust with the Clemente Neighborhood Hero Award. For fans looking to learn more about the journey of Latin American minor league baseball players to the big leagues during Hispanic Heritage Month, the new compelling documentary, FINDING HOME: JOURNEY TO MLB, is available to stream on Tubi. On Friday, September 22, fans also can attend a screening of the documentary at Gallagher Way an hour and a half after the end of the Cubs game. No RSVP required.
