WATCH: Jon Lester hits first major league homer |
The Chicago Cubs are unloading offensively on the Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.
Jon Lester hit his first major league homer to put the Cubs up 8-1. It was an opposite field two-run homer and he received a curtain call from the Wrigley Field faithful after the historic homer. The homer went an estimated 398 feet and had an exit velocity of 104 MPH. Lester joined John Smoltz as the only pitchers since 1900 to hit a homer and get his 2000th strikeout in the same game. Check out the video below. Are you kidding me? Jon Lester adds to the home run party by hitting the first dinger of his career. Wow. pic.twitter.com/tzZSxl9911
