Cubs News: Max Scherzer's MRI update

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs will be playing the Washington Nationals in the NLDS next week.

However, significant news happened as Nationals' ace Max Scherzer left the game with a lower-body injury after the trainer Paul Lessard came out to see him in the fourth inning on Saturday night.

The MRI revealed a hamstring cramp and the x-rays were negative for any break or significant damage. He should be ready to go in Game 1 against the Cubs against Jon Lester or Kyle Hendricks.

The 33-year old ace has a 2.51 ERA with 268 strikeouts this season.
