Nationals announce game one starter vs. Cubs

by - Senior Editor -

Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker announced on Thursday that standout pitcher Stephen Strasberg will pitch game one of the NLDS against the Chicago Cubs.

In 2017, Strasburg had a 15-4 record with 2.52 ERA with 204 strikeouts and 1.02 WHIP. He has had a stellar season as he is sixth in MLB in wins (15), seventh in NL in strikeouts (204), third in NL in ERA (2.52), and third in NL in WHIP (1.02).

NL CY Young award winner Max Scherzer didn't get the nod for game one because of his hamstring injury and Baker didn't announce the starters for Game two or Game three.

So there you have it, ladies and gentleman, Kyle Hendricks vs. Stephen Strasberg in the opening game of the NLDS on Friday night.
