WATCH: Cubs set record with 6 players with 20+ homers |
The Chicago Cubs are loaded with young talented players in their starting lineup as they are the first team in major league history with five players to hit 20 or more homers at age 25 or younger.
The young players are Javy Baez, Kris Bryant, Willson Contreras, Kyle Schwarber, and Ian Happ. Elder statesman Anthony Rizzo also has more than 20 homers this season and the six players with 20 homers has set a new franchise record. Happ's blast set the MLB record as he hit his 20th homer in only his 89th game this season. Check out his 414-foot homer that put the Cubs up 5-2. This blast made Ian Happ the sixth Cubs player to hit 20 homers this year. That's a franchise record. pic.twitter.com/XaBAwMlrMP
