CINCINNATI — Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez is a natural left-hander who does everything left-handed outside of swinging a bat and throwing a baseball. However, Baez is capable of batting left-handed, just not at a big-league level, and he proved as much during a 12-5 Cubs victory on Thursday.
When Cincinnati Reds position player Kyle Farmer pitched the ninth inning at Great American Ball Park, Baez opted to give batting left-handed a shot.
