Cubs News: Maddon ejected for arguing balls and strikes |
Cubs skipper Joe Maddon was ejected for arguing ball and strikes in the bottom of the second inning against the Reds on Tuesday afternoon.
During David Ross' at-bat, the count was 3-0 and Ross took off his shin guard thinking that he had just received a walk. However, umpire Meals called it a ball and subsequently threw out Maddon from the dugout for arguing the call. It was the second ejection of the season for Maddon. Interestingly, Ross still walked on the at-bat on his next pitch but he was forced at second when John Lackey grounded out.
