WATCH: Schwarber discusses his injury

by -

Chicago Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber was carted off with an apparent left leg injury in the second inning against the Diamondbacks on Thursday night.

Schwarber and center fielder Dexter Fowler collided together going after Jean Segura's deep fly ball in left center field. Segura scored an inside the park homerun on the play.

According to the Cubs medical staff, Schwarber has a sprained left ankle and the initial x-rays were negative. He will have an MRI on Friday to further evaluate the ankle and knee area.

"You can't get mad about playing hard and getting hurt," Schwarber said in the post-game interview. "I'd rather play hard and get hurt, than play not hard and get hurt."

Here is video of Schwarber talking to reporters after Thursday's game.
