7-year old cancer survivor has Cubs prosthetic eye

by - Senior Editor -

Beckham Zobrist is a tough and brave seven-year-old cancer survivor who had Retinoblastoma back in March of 2012.

Zobrist had a unique prosthetic eye made with the Cubs logo and recently was able to visit Wrigley Field and visit with several Cubs players including Jake Arrieta, Jon Lester, Kyle Schwarber, Ben Zobrist and Anthony Rizzo.

CubsHQ.com spoke with Beckham's mother Erin on Wednesday morning and she said that Beckham had a blast at Wrigley Field.

"They gave him their time and attention, which was invaluable," Erin Zobrist said. "They were excited to meet HIM, which he couldn't believe because he was so excited to meet them. And he just loved Dave Martinez! He made everything so special for him. Lastly, on the way home, Beckham kept saying, "Mom, this really is the best day of my life."
