Cubs News: Dansby Swanson leaves game with injury

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs had a massive 4-3 comeback win against the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night.

However, they did lose standout shortstop Dansby Swanson to a foot injury as he exited the contest in the seventh inning.

"He's got his heel, where he hit the bag, a contusion," Cubs manager David Ross said after the game. "We'll reevaluate him in the morning. He will not be in the lineup to start, but we'll have to see if he's available off the bench."

This sounds like the injury isn't that bad, and that is terrific news for the Cubs as they try to make a push in the National League Central standings before the All-Star break.

Swanson has hit .258 for the season with ten homers, 15 doubles, 36 RBIs, and a .752 OPS.
