Cubs News: Davis Ross on Stroman's blister injury |
Chicago Cubs standout pitcher Marcus Stroman exited in the fourth inning of Sunday's loss against the St. Louis Cardinals in London with a blister issue on his right index finger.
His final stat line was 3.1 innings pitched, giving up nine hits, six runs, a walk, and two strikeouts. Cubs manager David Ross was asked about Stroman's blister and his availability in the near future. “He’s dealt with this before,” Ross told reporters. “I don't see an issue popping up, especially anything long-term. I think he'll make his next start, but I'll continue to listen to the trainers. I think the next step will be we'll see how the bullpen goes when he's able to throw that in a couple of days.” Stroman's next scheduled start would be Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians. For the season, Stroman had a 9-5 record with a 2.47 ERA and sparkling 1.07 WHIP.
