Cubs News: Kris Bryant's MRI update

by - Senior Editor -

The Chicago Cubs announced on Friday morning that third baseman Kris Bryant's MRI showed that he has a mild sprain and will miss Friday's game versus Atlanta as a precaution.

He is not expected to go on the disabled list and will be listed as day to day. Bryant rolled his right ankle while running the bases against the Brewers in the third inning on Thursday afternoon.

Bryant thought he was healthy enough to play on Friday but the Cubs decided with the cold weather and their depth it would be wise to give the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year the day off.

Bryant is batting .289 with four home runs and 15 RBIs this season.
