Cubs News: Nick Madrigal leaves game with injury |
Not great news for the Northsiders.
Chicago Cubs third baseman Nick Madrigal left Monday's game in the fourth inning with right hamstring tightness. He was pulled with two outs in the inning, as a few pitches earlier, he ran into the side wall in foul territory, trying to get a foul ball hit by Brice Turang. "He woke up sore this morning," Cubs manager David Ross said on Tuesday. "We'll get some testing done throughout the day, feeling like kind of where he's at -- maybe some imaging tomorrow -- and kind of have a better sense with the All-Star break coming up." Christopher Morel replaced Madrigal at third base. Madrigal has been hot of late offensively, so this is a tough blow for the Cubs as they try to stay within striking distance in the National League Central division. Earlier in the game, Madrigal had a two-run double against the Brew Crew..
