WATCH: Joc Pederson lines blast into Wrigley Field basket |
CHICAGO — Blasting a lined dinger to put the Chicago Cubs on the scoreboard against the St. Louis Cardinals, left fielder Joc Pederson walloped his eighth home run of the season on Friday. The fourth-inning dinger cut the Cardinals' lead in half, making the score 4-1, and marked Pederson's second hit of the afternoon.
Pederson, who now has 23 RBIs, hammered the solo shot, which came on an 88.1-mph changeup from starter Johan Oviedo. Carrying out to center field, the long ball ended up in the basket atop the outfield wall at Wrigley Field. Pederson's hard-hit bomb sent a shockwave through the full-capacity crowd at the Friendly Confines. Joc.
