WATCH: Anthony Rizzo swats first-inning dinger |
CHICAGO — Avenging Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks after he gave up four home runs in the top of the first on Sunday, Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo swatted a home run of his own in the bottom of the first. Making the score 6-1 in favor of the Atlanta Braves, Rizzo lifted a solo shot into the right field seats.
With the wind blowing out at Wrigley Field, Rizzo got underneath an 80.2-mph curveball thrown by starter Bryse Wilson on an 0-2 count and sent it 373 feet out to right. The dinger, which marked Rizzo's second of the season, left the bat at a velocity of 99.9 mph and an angle of 37 degrees.
